Week 29 of 52 Week Printing Challenge

A quick proof print of collagraph and drypoint plates using my new printing press.

A proof print is usually made using cheaper paper to ensure that the composition and details are correct. In my case, I have used 200gsm cartridge paper.

Whilst the print is not perfect, I am trying a new technique and a new press all at the same time.

Printing Press- RP12 from Enjay Presses. Neil @enjaypresses built this beautiful press for me. I love it already! The quality is superb.

Recycling - I have recycled a carton for the grasses; and the Fairy Wren is made from the discarded mount board from my local framer. The marks in the background of the carton were already there. It could be how the carton was manufactured.

Now to try with better paper so that I don’t get the white line around the Fairy Wren. This is because the collagraph is much thicker that the Drypoint plate. And because I have used a paper that doesn’t have fibres with the flexibility required.
