Drypoint Etching of Angus

I have based this etching of a photograph of Angus sitting on the couch. I changed the photo to black and white and increased the contrast.

Next step is placing a clear Drypoint plate over the photo and scratching in lines. You can use a dark sheet of paper to slide under the Drypoint plate to see how you are progressing

This plate took about an hour to scratch out. Now to see how it looks in a frame.

Drypoint plate, Drypoint needle, Akua. intaglio Ink Black, Somerset Satin 250gsm 100% cotton rag and my Kangaroo Relief Press.

If you would like to create a portrait of your favourite pet, join me at The Churn Room in Dayboro on Saturday 9 August 9.30-1.30pm.
