Linocut with Chine Colle
I carved this Monstera deliciosa last Sunday. And I have printed with it several times. This version has my hand printed paper using the chine colle technique.
I used Japanese Relief Vinyl for the first time. Previously, I have used Silkcut Lino. There is a real difference in carving, The vinyl provides cleaner lines. It is made from recycled materials. It can be washed and constantly reused.
I started with Speedball Relief Printing Inks and quickly moved to Cranfield's Caligo Safe Wash inks - so much better!Cheap cartridge paper at this point, altjough i will try different papers on the next plate.
I really like this style of printing. And, if I'm honest, I'm loving it all so far!I feel like I have gone down a rabbit hole....never to emerge. I have set up a dedicated printing pace and I am getting a few more tools together. So much to learn and do!
