Charcoal Print Portrait
I love older faces. They have so much experience, wisdom, joy and sorrow reflected in their surface. Wrinkles should not be seen as a problem, rather a reflection of a life lived.
I am enjoying this printing process using a gel plate. It offers a whole new way of using charcoal. Last weekend I had a workshop where 3 beautiful woemn learnt the technique and produced some stunning prints. Unfortunately, I can't show them to you as Im technologically challenged and can't work out how to add extra photos to this blog! You can see them on my FB page and Instagram.
This is one of the simplest forms of printing that you can do. Obviously you need a gel plate and some charcoal. You don't need to do portraits, you can do animals, buildings, landscapes or abstract. The choice is yours.
I'll keep experimenting with this process. I'm sure there is lots more that I can do with it.
Maybe it's time for you to get that gel plate out and experiment!
