Gel Plate print and collage

Dried grass, dried spring onion skins, hand printed paper and acrylic paint on Somerset Satin (220gsm) paper.

This 'nest' started out as a dead piece of grass and some handprinted tissue paper. Getting the right amount of paint on the plate is key. And I must admit, I used a cheap acrylic paint and I rushed as i was heasing off to Sydney. And in hindsight that was the right thing to do, as we are now waiting for a cyclone to hit. Not sure when I'll get Week 11 posted.

I will attempt to do this print again with better acrylic paint (Golden Open) and not rush so much. Yes, I still have the piece of grass! I want o oush this techique a bit more and include threads and feathers.

Get out there and experiment with your gel plate!
