About the event
Kintsugi s the Japanese process of repairing broken pottery with gold. It is based on the philosophy of embracing flaws and imperfections. It draws on Wabi Sabi which is based on ‘perfection in imperfection’.
In the workshop, you will learn about:
- the kintsugi process and wabi sabi philosophy;
- The 3 different ways of repairing your broken pottery; and
- Repair a broken bowl or plate.
All materials, PPE, professional tuition and light refreshments are provided. All you need to do is wear closed in shoes and an open mind.
All workshops are conducted in my air conditioned studio in beautiful bayside Sandgate. There is a maximum of 4 per workshop, so that you get plenty of attention. And, more importantly, create pieces you love.
Please note that you will be required to break a bowl or plate as part of the process. All bowls or plates are brand new (they may vary from the photograph). Bowls and plates are suitable for decorative purposes only (they are not food safe).
Cost of the workshop is $125pp. A non refundable deposit of $60pp is required to secure your booking. Deposits must be paid within 24 hours. Balance is due on the day.
If you have any questions or would like to book, please message me via FB.
Thank you
